Two Students from Université de Poitiers, France, Present Their Internship Projects at Universitas Trisakti

Jakarta, August 31, 2026 — International academic experiences play an important role in broadening students’ perspectives and developing their professional competencies in an increasingly globalized world. This was reflected in the Mechanical Engineering International Internship Program Results Presentation, held by the Mechanical Engineering Department, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Universitas Trisakti, on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The presentation took place in the 5th-floor meeting room of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Universitas Trisakti. The event provided an opportunity for two international students from Université de Poitiers, France, to present the final results of their internship projects completed during their time at Universitas Trisakti.

The two students, Tom Catalao and Paul Tonin, participated in the Mechanical Engineering International Internship Program for 16 weeks, from May 18 to September 4, 2026.
During the presentation session, Tom Catalao presented his project entitled “Determining Engine Performance with Some Various Fuel”, under the supervision of Ir. Tono Sukarnoto, M.T., I.P.M. Meanwhile, Paul Tonin presented his project entitled “Effect of Variations in Fuel Mixtures to Engine Performance”, supervised by Dr. Ir. Sentot Novianto, A.Md., S.T., M.T.

Both projects focused on engine performance and the effects of fuel variations, providing the students with valuable opportunities to strengthen their analytical and research skills while exploring mechanical engineering topics in an international academic environment.
The presentation was attended by the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Secretary of the Department, the Head of the Sub-Administration Department, faculty members, administrative and technical staff, as well as the supervisors and co-supervisors. Beyond serving as the final evaluation of the internship program, the presentation also provided a valuable platform for the students to share their academic experiences, research findings, and knowledge gained throughout the internship.

The Mechanical Engineering International Internship Program represents the Mechanical Engineering Department, Universitas Trisakti’s continued commitment to strengthening international academic collaboration and exchange. Through programs such as this, students are given opportunities to gain international exposure, broaden their academic perspectives, and develop competencies that will support their future careers in the global engineering and industrial landscape.

Congratulations to Tom Catalao and Paul Tonin on completing the Mechanical Engineering International Internship Program. May the knowledge, experience, and international exposure gained during their time at Universitas Trisakti become valuable assets for their future academic and professional journeys.
