On Friday, July 31, 2026, a team from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Universitas Trisakti conducted a Community Service (PkM = Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat) activity entitled “Application of a Grass Chopper for Goat Farmers in East Waringinsari Village, Pringsewu Regency, Lampung.” The PkM team consisted of three lecturers: Ir. Daisman Purnomo Bayyu Aji, S.T., Ph.D., Azka Aulia, S.T., M.Eng., and Dra. Christina Eni Pujiastuti, M.Sc., one laboratory assistant, Gunawa Raharjo, and two students, Ilham Aria Ronesta and Aldi Alex Sadigo.

The implementation of the grass chopper makes the process of preparing livestock feed faster and easier, resulting in more uniform feed sizes. The use of this appropriate technology is expected to help reduce the workload of livestock farmers, increase feed processing efficiency, and support the development of more productive and sustainable goat farming businesses.

In addition to implementing the equipment, this activity included explanations on how to operate, maintain, and safely use it for the livestock farmer groups. Hopefully, this activity will provide tangible benefits to the community and serve as the first step in encouraging the use of appropriate technology to improve the welfare of livestock farmers in East Waringinsari village.
